Co Meath and Leitrim primary schools win €50,000 each for sports facilities through Aldi competition

Two primary schools in Co Meath and Co Leitrim have been announced as the lucky winners of the Aldi Play Rugby Sticker Competition.

St Peter & Paul’s National School, Drumconrath, Navan, Co Meath and St. Joseph’s National School in Leitrim have been awarded €50,000 each for their school’s sports facilities.

Another 10 runner-up primary schools have won €10,000 each.

And another lucky school has won a training session with Aldi Play Rugby Ambassador, retired Munster and Ireland star, Paul O’Connell.

Joanne Carroll, Principal at St. Peter & Paul’s National School said: We are in dreamland, so appreciative to Aldi for the money, it’s a transformative amount for the school and pupils and local community who will benefit for years to come.”

Richella Kelly, Principal at St. Joseph’s National School commented: “The possibilities are endless now thanks to Aldi. Huge amount to invest in the school for the future. I would encourage all primary schools to take part.”

The competition is now underway again for 2020 with stickers will be available in stores from January 31.

Shoppers can collect one sticker for every €30 they spend in store between 31 January & 24 April.

For every 300 stickers collected, primary schools are in with a chance of winning major prizes.

The competition is open to primary schools nationwide and more information can be found at www.aldi.ie/playrugby.
