Co Fermanagh: PSNI statement after man's body recovered from water

A man's body has been recovered from water in Co Fermanagh, police have confirmed.

In a statement issued on Saturday afternoon, a PSNI spokesperson said they received reports that a man had entered the water at the Lough Shore Road area in Enniskillen.

It happened in the early hours of Friday morning.

Their statement continued: "Police can confirm that the body of a man has been recovered. A post-mortem to determine the cause of death will take place in due course.

"There are no further details at this time."

DUP Erne North Councillor Deborah Erskine said: "Such tragic and heartbreaking news. Thinking of this man’s family at such a desperately sad time. I commend those involved in the search and rescue on Lough Erne, following reports yesterday."
