Dog owners and businesses have been warned to be vigilant after antifreeze was left in a drinking bowl outside a business in Co Down.
Many shops are now helping pet owners by providing drinking water outside their premises.
But in Comber, one estate agent discovered a bowl of the liquid outside their offices.
A source said: "Someone deliberately put that anti-freeze in a dog bowl in the certain knowledge that any pet being walked past could have and likely, would have try to drink from the bowl.
"And that could prove deadly.
"Staff at Tim Martin and Co on Castle Street, explained how a fellow local business owner warned them that the dog bowl outside their office was filled with green liquid.
A staff member checked the bowl and believed it to be antifreeze. The liquid was disposed of and a message posted on social media to alert people because a lot of businesses in the area puts bowls out for dogs."
Cedarmount Vets sent the warning out on their social media in a bid to warn pet owners about potential poisoning.
