Co Down road 'to be closed for some time' following crash

A Co Down road has been closed by police following a collision.

The PSNI has shut the Downpatrick Road in Ballynahinch following the incident and drivers are being advised to seek alternate routes.

Diversions have been put in place on Drumaness Road and Cumber Road.

The details of the collision are not yet known.

Police have said that the road is expected to be closed for some time.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "The Downpatrick Road, Ballynahinch, is closed due to a road traffic collision.

"Diversions are in place at Drumaness Road and Cumber Road.

"The road is expected to be closed for some time so, if possible, please seek an alternative route."

Meanwhile yesterday, police appealed for dashcam footage following a collision in Killough on Thursday, November 26.

Police received reports that a car had collided with a tractor at 5.20pm and one man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

They are asking anyone with any information regarding the collision to contact them on non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1458 for 26/11/20.

Or you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
