Co Down fishermen recover shoe and sock with 'human remains'

Fishermen in Ardglass recovered a shoe and sock from the sea with what appeared to be 'human remains' inside.

Police say at around 6.30pm on Wednesday, they were contacted by the fishermen after the discovery.

A PSNI spokesperson added: " The bones, which do appear to be human remains, were recovered to the forensic mortuary at the RVH."

There are no further details.
