Co Down crash leaves motorcyclist in critical condition

A 40-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after his motorbike collided with a fence.

The incident took place on the Blackstaff Road in Clough, Co Down early on Sunday.

Police closed the road afterwards but it has since been reopened.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "A 40 year old man is in a critical condition in hospital after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a fence on Blackstaff Road in Clough at around 8.10am this morning, Sunday 20 June.

"The road was closed for a time but has since reopened.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police by calling 101, quoting reference 697 20/06/21."

Meanwhile, police in Belfast have appealed for witnesses following an incident in the north of the city during the week.

On Thursday June 17, at around 8.45am, a school child reported she was possibly being followed by an unknown male in the Oldpark area.

Tennent Street LPT officers are asking local residents to be vigilant," especially during school hours" and "if you do notice any suspicious vehicles or persons in this area, please contact police immediately".
