"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and staff past and present for a wonderful 8 years of fun filled memories.

"Take care and stay safe"

The post has since garnered 871 reactions and over 1,000 comments.

People shared their sadness over the closure, with one comment saying: "So sad to hear this. Loved my time here and the amazing friends I made.

"My own children have outgrown Happy Town in recent years but it was always a great place to take them. Happy Town will be sorely missed."

Another commenter said: "Aw very sad to hear this. My 3 love Happy town and my third was [very] nearly born in here!"

Others shared tributes to the staff at the playground and said: "I'm sorry to hear this. Over the years I've taken my children to many indoor play areas, but Happy Town was always the favourite.

"It was further to travel for us, but the part I loved the most as a parent was having the staff interacting with and keeping the children entertained."
