Co Antrim road closed following serious crash, police say

Police have closed a Co Antrim road following a serious crash.

The  PSNI  issued the information on the incident just after 3pm on Friday afternoon.

A spokeswoman said: "Motorists are advised that the Hillhead Road in Ballycarry is closed due to a serious road traffic collision.

"Diversions are in place at the junction of Main Street and Island Road; and at the Ballypollard Road junction with Bankhall Road.

"The road is expected to be closed for some time and motorists should seek alternative routes."

Meanwhile, an investigation is ongoing after images of 'masked figures with guns' in Co Antrim circulated online.

Police are making enquiries after the images, which show two masked figures apparently brandishing guns standing at the entrance to Crumlin's Ballydonaghy Meadows, emerged.

Officers are also investigating after graffiti was sprayed at the side of a building in the same area on Wednesday, February 24.

Declan Kearney, Sinn Féin South Antrim MLA, said anyone in the area being "subjected to threats or duress by criminal elements should make contact with the PSNI" or elected representatives.
