Shortly after 7.20am this morning, Trafficwatch NI said: "Cullybackey Road, Ahoghill is closed between the Old Cullybackey Road and Woodtown Road junctions following a serious road traffic collision. This incident is ongoing. Motorists are asked to seek alternative routes."

Meanwhile, police have launched a probe after a man and woman were followed by a 'number of males armed with knives' in Belfast on Saturday.

The incident occurred shortly before the man was assaulted suffering "serious facial injuries".

A PSNI spokesman said: "Detectives are investigating the report of an assault on the Falls Road in West Belfast in the early hours of Saturday December 19.

"It was reported that as a man and woman walked along the Falls Road shortly after 1.30am on Saturday morning, a number of males armed with knives got out of a white van, threatened the man, and began to follow them.

"A short time later a dark coloured car pulled up alongside them and a male got out and proceeded to assault the man.
