A security alert at the Antrim Road area of Newtownabbey has ended.
Police were called to the scene between Glencairn Park and Ballyclare Road yesterday evening after the discovery of a suspicious object in the area.
Inspector Patton said: “At around 6:40pm, officers attended a report of a suspicious object in the area. ATO were tasked to the scene and the object was declared an elaborate hoax
“The Antrim Road in Newtownabbey has now reopened following the incident.”
