Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] State secretary, told a news conference here on Friday that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan would inaugurate the E.K. Nayanar Memorial Museum on April 3, ahead of the CPI(M)‘s 23rd Party Congress. The inauguration would take place at 3.30 p.m. on the day.
The memorial was set up with modern facilities and would be open to the public after the Party Congress on April 11. He said there would be four galleries in the museum. The Chief Minister would inaugurate galleries 1, 4, and the lobby, along with an art installation, which is a part of phase 1 of the project. The first gallery would have an orientation theatre.
The museum would a state-of-the-art one, with digital audio-visual facilities to attract the younger generation. In the second phase, there would be facilities arranged for virtual experience in galleries two and three. A presentation of the party’s history, from its inception to its formation, would be shown in the second gallery. The third gallery would display events from Communist struggles and pay homage to martyrs. The fourth gallery would showcase the life history of E.K. Nayanar and display silicon statues of party leaders.
The company, Magic Tail Works, which is led by producers and writers Shankar Ramakrishnan and Vinod Menon, in association with Vinon Daniel, board member, International Council of Museums, designed the museum, Mr. Balakrishnan said.
