CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launches Uttarakhand’s first pvt drone making unit

ROORKEE: Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the state’s first drone-manufacturing unit, a private facility, in Roorkee on Friday.

“Drones are already being used for product delivery, security and other purposes. In times of floods and landslides, the use of drones has become critical,” Dhami said on the occasion. The company, Roter Precision Instruments Pvt Ltd, has claimed that it has the capacity to manufacture 150 drones per month. “Since drones are inevitable tools to address the problems of Uttarakhand, we have established Drone Application And Research Centre to promote research in this field,” Dhami added.

The Roter industries has said that it will invest Rs 150 crore in the state for manufacturing drones and employe local youths in the Roorkee-based unit.
