CM Punk in extraordinary foul-mouthed rant at current WWE superstar The Miz

CM Punk launched an extraordinary foul-mouthed rant at WWE superstar The Miz on Twitter.

The wrestling legend is part of the WWE Backstage show on FOX, the new home of SmackDown in the U.S.

The ex-UFC fighter, who sensationally quit WWE in 2014, was hired as an analyst by the American TV network.

On his debut in November, he proclaimed: "It's as simple as this: Just when they think they've got the answers, I change the culture."

Punk wasn't in the studio this week, when SmackDown talent The Miz made an appearance and referenced Punk's comment.

But the 41-year-old former world champion sounded off on social media - clearly unhappy about a video featuring his old rival.

Punk replied to a video from The Miz tweeted by WWE on Fox, saying: "Go suck a blood money covered d*** in Saudi Arabia you f***ing dork."

The tweet, which has since been deleted, seemingly took aim at WWE's controversial partnership with the Middle Eastern regime.

The Miz, real name Mike Mizanin, has been part of the company's lucrative live events in Saudi Arabia, which have drawn criticism because of the conservative country's ultra-strict laws.

During the show last night, Miz said: "We are now done with WWE backstage, they're taking the microphones off of me, it was great."

As Christian joked that "thankfully" WWE backstage was over, Miz said: "What do you mean, thankfully? I feel like it was the best WWE Backstage ever.

The 39-year-old continued: "What do you mean in or around (the best ever), name one that was better."

Miz added: "Sorry I didn't change the culture, my bad!"

Punk has insisted he has no relationship with WWE and has only returned to the fold with broadcaster FOX.

The grappler, real name Phil Brooks, has denied he is set for a return to the ring, despite claims to the contrary.

He said: "I do not work with, have any relationship with and have not talked to anyone at WWE. It’s strictly a Fox thing. I get to criticise the product.

"I don't think this job existed six months ago. Somebody floated the idea and I didn't immediately go, 'Ugh, no'.

"I work for Fox. I haven’t talked to anybody in the WWE. It’s nothing I’m actively pursuing or interested in. But I’m 41 years old and I’ve lived an experienced life where I know to not say no.

"That's going to be a bridge that has to be built and it might take as long as building the Great Wall of China. There are some hurdles."

Punk's 434-day WWE Championship reign remains one of the longest in the company's history before he retired in 2014.

But his UFC career was a short-lived disaster as he lost twice, first by first-round submission to Mickey Gall in 2016 and then by unanimous decision to Mike Jackson two years later.
