Clydeside Expressway to close following resurfacing and bridge works

The Clydeside Expressway is to be partially closed in one direction next week following resufacting and bridge works.

In order to undertake clearing channel of grit after joint installation works it will be necessary for traffic restrictions to come into place on the Pointhouse Bridge which carries traffic on the Expressway across the River Kelvin.

As a result, the Expressway will be shut westbound on Monday, September 2 and Tuesday, September 3 from 8pm to 6am.

While eastbound, the Expressway one lane will be closed (on the near side) from Monday September 2 and Tuesday, September 3 between 09:30 hours and 15:30 hours.

Drivers going westbound will be diverted to the exit off slip at Partick B808 / Glasgow Harbour, then continue right along Beith Street, turning left onto Castlebank Street. They will continue eastbound along Castlebank Street to the junction with Stobcross Road then turn left onto the on slip with A814 Clydeside Expressway Eastbound.

Glasgow City Council's traffic control centre are warning that significant delays can be expected.

It comes following a serious accident on the dual carriageway earlier this morning.
