Clydeside Expressway police incident as emergency services race to the scene

Emergency services have been scrambled to the Clydeside Expressway this afternoon in response to a 'police incident'.

Traffic Scotland have confirmed police are on the scene near Ferry Road in the west end of Glasgow.

The nature of the incident is not known at this stage, however local eyewitnesses have claimed ambulances have also arrived in response.

Traffic Scotland say one eastbound lane of the A814 has been closed, resulting in traffic delays.

Glasgow Live have contacted Police Scotland for comment.

"13.48 #A814 Clydeside Expressway Lane 1 (of 2) closed E/B at Ferry Road due to a police incident

"Police on scene.

"Traffic is slow in the area."

UPDATE: A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.50pm on Tuesday, 6 July, we received a report of a man found injured on the Clydeside Expressway near to the Partick junction eastbound.

“Emergency services were in attendance and lane one was closed for a short time. A 28-year-old man was taken to hospital and enquires to establish the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.”
