Clydeside Expressway crash: One man taken to hospital for treatment

A man was taken to hospital this afternoon following a three-vehicle crash on the Clydeside Expressway.

Police and ambulance crews raced to the scene of the crash on the eastbound carriageway at the Partick on-slip after the alarm was raised around 4.45pm.

One man was subsequently taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with minor injuries.

The incident, believed to have involved two cars and a bus, saw traffic grind to a halt as one lane of the Expressway was left completely blocked off to vehicles and the other partially blocked, with HGVs unable to pass.

The crash also prompted First Glasgow to temporary divert a number of their bus services through Partick and Finnieston.

Traffic Scotland have since confirmed that both lanes are now running.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: Officers were called to a three vehicle road traffic crash on the eastbound carriageway of the Clydeside Expressway at the Partick on-slip at around 4.42pm today.

"One man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with minor injuries. The road at the scene is now open."
