Clydeside Expressway closed westbound following early morning crash

The Clydeside Expressway is closed westbound after a road traffic incident.

Glasgow City Council confirmed the crash, which took place in the earlier this morning (Saturday).

As a result, the Expressway is now closed westbound at Finnieston Street.

The Council's Traffic Control and Management Team (TRAFFCOM) advised: "Due to a Road Traffic Incident, the A814 Clydeside Expressway has been closed Westbound at Finnieston Street.

"Road users should avoid this route.

"Delays should be expected in both directions. "

Police Scotland have since confirmed to Glasgow Live they were called to Clydeside Expressway near Finnieston junction at 6.25am following reports of a road crash.

They added that one male driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be checked over but they were not aware of any serious injuries.

Update: The road is now open.
