Clydebank author spots building in London that 'looks like Billy Connolly'

You know the feeling; you're walking down the street towards a row of shops, minding your own business when suddenly you realise that the building in front of you looks exactly like Billy Connolly.

Sound familiar? No? Well that's exactly what happened to Clydebank author Emma Grae as she was walking down a street called Pitshanger Lane in Ealing in east London last week.

Emma, who works with the Scots Language Centre and is releasing her Glasgow-set debut novel Be guid tae yer Mammy next month, couldn't believe her eyes when she spotted an ornate-looking building with what she thinks is a striking resemblance to the Big Yin.

After staring at it again when she got home, Emma decided to upload the image to Twitter alongside an iconic snap of Billy staring straight down the camera.

As you might expect, her tweet, captioned: "The top of this building looks like Billy Connolly", has been met with much hilarity - and some agreement that it does indeed look like the iconic Glasgow comedian.

One person responded with: "Paging Big Yin..." while another wrote: "Does too".

And a third wrote: "But does the building know the donkey joke?"

What's the verdict, Glasgow, can everyone see the resemblance? You can also take a look at the building on Google Maps here - although we have to say, it's a bit less convincing in daylight. Let us know what you think on Facebook or Twitter!
