Clyde Tunnel closed due to 'ongoing police incident'

A stretch of the Clyde Tunnel is closed to traffic due to an 'ongoing police incident'.

Council traffic officers say the Expressway is inaccessible on the southbound side at the Govan Road Overbridge.

Motorists are being warned to expect delays in the area.

A council traffic statement reads: "Due to an ongoing police Incident, the A739 Clyde Tunnel Expressway (Southbound) is currently closed at the Govan Road Overbridge.

"The Southbound Bore remains open although all traffic is being diverted via the Govan Road off slip.

"Road users should expect delays."

Traffic Scotland is also warning of diversions.

Glasgow Live has contacted Police Scotland for comment.
