Clyde to honour supporters who lost their lives during Covid on home strip in classy gesture

Clyde will honour supporters who passed away during Covid on their home shirt the season.

The Terrace Store, who have extended their sponsorship deal with the Broadwood side, have re-branded their sleeve sponsorship to feature the famous Bully Wee black ship.

It's in remembrance of fans who weren't able to watch their beloved Clyde last season and it's to ensure that 'loved ones lost stand side by side with the players for the forthcoming season.'

Fans have been unanimous in praise for the move and the club will provide an opportunity for fans to remember their lost supporters ahead of the Dumbarton clash on Saturday, July 31.

Carl Sewell, Director of the Terrace Store told Clyde's website : "As a brand we stand for the football community.

"Part of our ethos is to give back to the community that feeds us, with this in mind we are delighted to take sponsorship with Clyde FC this forthcoming season

"To further strengthen our relationship with a club who show so much passion and drive for what they believe in, but even more to adapt our sponsorship to give fans something to be proud of, something to remember a loved one for and to help cast a nod towards these fans who didn’t see their beloved team play one last time.

"This is for them, this is for you, this is The Terrace."

Clyde chairman, John Taylor added: “We have developed close and positive working relationships with The Terrace since our partnership began last season.

"They have a genuine and innovative approach to what they do, and what they offer.

"We were moved by their gesture to re-work their sleeve brand to provide a lasting memory to all of those we have lost during the Covid pandemic. Our players will wear the shirt with pride”
