Clyde re-sign defender with "terrific energy"

Clyde have re-signed right-back Marky Munro on a one-year deal, after an opportunity of full-time football fell through for the defender.

Munro played 13 times for Clyde in the second half of last season before trying to go full-time, which didn't work out.

After returning to train at Broadwood, the club offered him a deal and he goes straight into the squad for today's clash against Montrose.

Boss Danny Lennon is delighted to bring the 20-year-old back to Clyde, and told the club's website: "Marky was someone we were very keen to keep, but his ambition was to get full-time football.

"Unfortunately for him it didn't pan out, but it now gives us the opportunity to bring him back to the club.

"He came in at a very difficult time in the season last year and acquitted himself very well.

"We're looking for him to bring the terrific energy that he has, and with the games and experience he has under his belt now he will help us.

"He is a very, very good defender and we need to have players who perform well without the ball, and Marky offers that."
