Clyde Gateway names team of business matchmakers

Enterprise organisation Clyde Gateway has set up a location advisory team to support businesses looking for a base.

Executive director Martin McKay will lead the team providing property, development and business support, advising businesses on the key factors such as local labour availability, cost, business environment, regulation and availability of supply chain.

He will be joined by experienced Clyde Gateway project managers including Lisa Miller (communications), Amy Wimpenny (development), Clare Ferry (business support) and John Jackson (property).

Clyde Gateway has attracted more than £1.5 billion of investment, supported over 2,800 businesses and helped to bring over 6,000 jobs to the area spanning parts of the east of Glasgow and South Lanarkshire. Business and organisations involved include Aberdeen Standard Investments, Made Brave, SPIE, Robertson Group, Torishima and Trans Canada Turbines.

McKay said: “Clyde Gateway has carved out a solid reputation as 'the place’ where people can live and work and businesses can thrive.  Setting up this dedicated Location Advisory team allows us to shine a brighter spotlight on this area and offer an enhanced cross-discipline resource to businesses – allowing them to supercharge their success here.”
