Clyde can build on Queen's Park point says boss as he hails fan factor

Clyde manager Danny Lennon says his side should have taken maximum points for their efforts in a derby encounter with Queen's Park on Saturday.

The Spiders hit the bar twice but the Bully Wee arguably had a better chance. David Goodwillie stepped up to hit a penalty but he was unable to convert.

Lennon's men are still ninth in League One - the relegation play-off spot - but it's another point after a draw with Dumbarton ended a run of four straight defeats.

Lennon said: “We are very pleased with the clean sheet. We've taken a point at a difficult venue against a very good team. But we probably had the two best chances in the game and we are disappointed not to take all three.

“I thought it was a real good tactical game, but on the second half performance I thought we deserved it. I thought it was a great wee derby.

"The fans gave absolutely everything as they do every week and, unfortunately, nobody goes away with the bragging rights. There’s certainly a lot to build upon.

"It was a very good game overall. We are pleased with a lot of aspects and you could see two teams going for it. We had to make a couple of tweaks.

"We made a tactical change at half-time and we stifled up the middle of the pitch. It gave us the chance to hit them on the break, but it's a pleasing point."
