Clyde boss Danny Lennon 'senses good atmosphere in dressing room' amid East Fife chaos

Clyde boss Danny Lennon insists he senses a good atmosphere among his players as they bid to put the chaos of their Covid-hit clash with East Fife behind them at Forfar tonight.

The Bully Wee gaffer has yet to address the events of Tuesday night, which saw their clash with East Fife postponed just before kick-off amid conflicting versions of events regarding a Clyde player testing positive for Covid-19 and then being cleared to play.

Clyde released a statement insisting they got the green light for the clash to go ahead after a test review from the Joint Response Group, but East Fife refused to play the clash over health fears, with a number of the players' partners pregnant.

The Fifers are up on a SPFL disciplinary charge today for failing to fulfil the fixture, but Methill boss Darren Young has disputed some of Clyde's claims, as he believes Scottish FA’s Chief Medical Consultant, Dr John MacLean, was contacted by Clyde officials and not the JRG as a collective.

Amid the fallout, the Bully Wee travel to Angus tonight to face bottom of the table Forfar and Lennon told the Clyde website: "We were disappointed not to be in action on Tuesday night, but I could sense a good atmosphere in the dressing room and the players were really tuned in.

"So we’re looking for them to bring that same level of concentration tonight.

"It’s another opportunity for the prize of a very valuable three points.

"We've come up against Forfar a couple of times recently and they have some good qualities, there’s no doubt about that.

"On Tuesday night they ran Dumbarton close for the majority of the game. We know that we need to bring our best to get the three points, but Forfar will have a big say on that."

Clyde and East Fife will hope to achieve some clarity on the outcome of Tuesday's postponed clash later today.

As things stands Clyde are in the relegation play-off spot, nine points clear of Forfar, while they trail 10th place Dumbarton by two points, pending the outcome of the East Fife clash.
