Clyde boss Danny Lennon delighted as duo sign new deals

Clyde have signed striker Ally Love and midfielder Kevin Nicoll for next season.

Boss Danny Lennon described 29-year-old Love as a 'talisman' and said he was wrong to release Nicoll, 34, in June 2019, before bringing him back in November.

Love joined the Broadwood club in 2018 and has made 99 appearances for them so far.

Nicoll is in his third spell at Clyde, having joined in 2017, following a loan spell in 2012-13, and he has made 85 appearances to date.

Danny Lennon told the Clyde website: "We are delighted to have secured the signatures of Ally and Kevin for next season.

Midfielder Kevin Nicoll has also signed a new deal at Broadwood (SNS Group)

"Ally has become a real talisman for the club, scoring many important goals. He was also 'king of the assists' for us this season, defended very well from the front and he brings tremendous enthusiasm.

"I am big enough to say I was wrong to let Kevin go after we were promoted. We haven’t replaced him since he left the club.

"He has great character, brings the best out of the players around him and provides a bit of steel that we need in our midfield.

"It is no coincidence that since Kevin’s return, our defensive record greatly improved.

"These are great Clyde players. They have proved that in their time at this wonderful club and we look forward to what they will do in the Clyde jersey next season."
