Clyde are 'fighting for everything', says boss Danny Lennon

Clyde boss Danny Lennon says his side is fighting for everything as they bid to secure League One football for next season.

The Bully Wee gaffer says the 1-1 draw against second-placed Cove Rangers shows their spirit and desire, and that the league is only going to get more competitive between now and the end of the season.

Clyde host Forfar at Broadwood this evening in the first meeting between the sides this season, and Lennon told Clyde's website: "Every game from now until the end of the season is important, and you could see that against Cove where we were fighting for everything.

"If you look at the league as a whole, everyone is in the same position and it is all very close - every result apart from one on Tuesday ended in a draw, so you can see how competitive it's getting.

"The games have a quick turnover at this moment in time and as soon as a game ends, myself and Allan [assistant Allan Moore] are already talking about the next one.

"We don't have any time to dissect the previous game or work on everything that we would like.

"What I can certainly see is that it has been a tremendous effort from the players and all the staff - it's a wee bit like Groundhog Day!

"There's a lot of football still to be played, and we're just focused on keeping the momentum going and turning these tight draws into victories."

Meanwhile, captain David Goodwillie's equaliser on Tuesday took his season tally to 10, meaning for four consecutive seasons he has got into double figures at least.

The former Dundee United hit man joins Allan Brown, Bill Boyd, Dougie Wallace, Leslie Johnston, Billy McPhail, Tommy Ring, Archie Robertson, Jock Buchanan and Danny Masterton in a list of Clyde players who have also achieved the same feat.
