Clyde 1 host Cassi Gillespie on her dream gig supporting Hugh Jackman at the Hydro

Cassi Gillespie has had some week.

The Clyde 1 radio host and DJ took a star turn at the Hydro, as the support act for Hollywood star Hugh Jackman , who was in town with his epic stage spectacular.

Cassi is still buzzing after paving the way for The Man. The Music. The Show for three nights, in her biggest performances to date, but she admits she felt a few butterflies to begin with.

Hugh Jackman at Hydro: Greatest Showman star Keala Settle cries backstage after being overwhelmed by Glasgow fans

She told Glasgow Live: "It was amazing and surreal.

"It's been a whirlwind week to be honest.

"I didn't tell anyone at first because I get really nervous before shows, so I try not to think about it too much.

"I got asked last week but didn't tell anyone until the Tuesday morning when we announced it on Clyde 1, and then I was on stage that night so I just had a few nerve-racking few hours to wait.

"I just blanked out how huge it was and thought of it as like any other DJ gig, except without so many 'here we, here we' chants.

"It was amazing, a whirlwind experience but I absolutely loved it."

Hugh Jackman spotted working out in Glasgow gym

Hollywood megastar Jackman caused a storm across the city all week after he arrived on Saturday to prepare for the launch of his musical stage show extravaganza.

He was spotted out and about meeting fans and taking in the sites, visiting Loch Lomond and even working out in a local gym .

No stranger to meeting famous faces, or even being in the spotlight herself, Cassi admitted this week's celebrity encounter was next level even for her, and she's still not back down from cloud nine after the high of meeting the main man himself.

She said: "He was a dream.

"I know not one person has said a bad thing about him, and it's because he was just so lovely.

"The first two nights I just behaved myself, literally went in and did my work and left.

"So on the last night I plucked up the courage and asked my contact if there would be any chance of meeting him, she said she couldn't promise, then next thing he walked down and went 'you're the DJ!', 'I've been loving your tunes!'."

"He was just a genuinely nice guy and the city fell in love with him."

Even more of talented Cassi's dreams could have come true thanks to Hugh, who regularly dishes out scratchcards to his crew as a thanks for their efforts.

Cassi, who co-hosts the breakfast show with George Bowie, added: "I did it on air with George and unfortunately I didn't win a bean.

"It's so cheesy but that's okay with me, because the whole experience was priceless!"
