Cluj try to spook Celtic as Champions League foes follow Dan Petrescu blueprint

Adrian Paun has added to Cluj's mental warfare bid ahead of Tuesday's Champions League showdown with Celtic by insisting it would take a miracle to down the Hoops.

Manager Dan Petrescu turned the dial up for the third qualifying round second leg by insisting referees favour the Hoops under the Parkhead lights on European nights.

Petrescu reckons playing Celtic just now is like taking on Barcelona because of the amount of chances created by the Premiership champions.

And now the club's key man, who skippered the side and scored the first goal during their 3-0 weekend win against Hermannstadt in the absence of club captain Camora, has stressed his side are massive underdogs after the 1-1 first leg draw.

Paun said: "We need a miracle to qualify.

"The morale in the squad is excellent at the moment and we are playing some nice football, but to go through in Glasgow, it's a miracle we need.

"It will be extremely tough to play a team like Celtic at their own stadium and we have to score.

"But what is pleasing at the moment is that we have a squad who look like we can score goals. We made a lot fo changes for the weekend win.

"When I was told I was getting the captain's armband for the game, I was the proudest man in the world.

"The extra responsibility spurred me on and I was delighted to repay the manager with the first goal of the game.

"Against Celtic, everyone has to do their job. Any failures and we will get punished."
