The M62 came to a standstill near Leeds this morning as a truck carrying chicken carcasses crashed near to junction 27 for Birstall.
Motorists were spitting feathers as they were delayed for up to two hours after the crash happened at around 7:30am, leaving dead chickens all over the busy motorway.
Highways England officers arrived on the scene to clear the carriageway of hundreds of chickens, but at the height of the incident there were seven miles queues all the way back beyond junction 30 for Oulton.
