Clubs explore Special General Meeting option over null and void controversy

West Region football clubs could join forces to call a Special General Meeting following revelations that Junior chiefs backtracked on a decision to null and void leagues.

Ayrshire Football News understands that several clubs are exploring the possibility with a view to demanding answers from under-fire beaks.

And they could go as far as demanding that clubs decide how the league ends - potentially overturning the original decision made on April 21.

A Special General Meeting can be called with the backing of at least 50 per cent of clubs and sources are confident they could easily garner that support.

The development comes on the back of us revealing documents that show Junior chiefs backtracked on an agreement to null and void the 2019/20 season after an 11th hour intervention from Auchinleck Talbot's commercial director Colin Chisholm.

One source said: "There's a feeling among the clubs that questions need to be answered.

"It's not beyond the realms of possibility that clubs could ultimately decide the outcome of the leagues.

“It’s being spoken about privately and I wouldn’t be surprised to see moves made in the very near future.”
