Club World Cup draw - LIVE!
The draw for next year’s Fifa Club World Cup takes place in Zurich this afternoon, with Chelsea among the teams involved.
The tournament format means the Blues won’t actually be certain of their opposition until next February’s competition gets underway, with Thomas Tuchel’s side guaranteed a bye into the semi-final as Uefa’s representatives having won the Champions League last season.
Copa Libertadores winners Palmeiras get the same privilege, with the other five teams involved set to be drawn into the tournament bracket from the first and second rounds.
Fifa has shelved plans to expand the tournament because of disruption to the football calendar caused by the coronavirus pandemic, meaning that for now only seven teams take part - six as representatives of the continental federations and one as representative of the host nation, the UAE.
