Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney row mocked by Irish club's latest announcement

Irish club Sligo Rovers have poked fun at the row between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy with a highly original signing announcement.

A row has erupted between the WAGS after Rooney accused Vardy of leaking stories about her to a newspaper.

Vardy, the wife of Leicester City and England star Jamie, has denied the claims .

And their war of words has been used by Sligo to announce that their player Ronan Coughlan had signed a new deal.

Wayne Rooney's wife Coleen had accused Vardy of leaking stories after using a process of elimination to find who was passing information from her private Instagram to a newspaper.

The mum-of-four said she spent five months working it out by blocking everyone’s account but Vardy’s.

She said she watched as a series of fake stories she had planted on her account appeared in the newspaper.

And now Sligo have poked fun at the WAGs' row, tweeting that they had worked out the identity of someone who followed them on their Instagram account who had signed a new deal.

The post was captioned: "This has been a burden in our life for a few hours now and finally we have got to the bottom of it......

It went on to say that they blocked everyone who followed their Instagram account except one player, to see if stories would still end up in the Sligo Weekender.

It says a story was set to appear in the Weekender - about the player's two goals against Cork, his man-of-the-match performance and his "great hair".

Finally the post says they worked out the player in question was indeed staying at Sligo, before confirming Coughlan's identity along with a picture of him signing his new deal.

Coughlan, 24, plays as a second striker and has scored eight league goals in his first season for Sligo, who are sixth in the Irish Premier Division.
