Vegan food needn't stop with Veganuary — Club Mexicana is making sure of that.
The street food sensation has announced it’s opening a vegan burger bar in London Fields at the end of the month.
The new concept, which opens at Netil Market on January 26, will serve classic burgers will a Mexican plant-based twist. Guests can expect dishes such as the Mexican fried chick’n burger and beer battered tofish with tartar sauce.
Sides are set to get a vegan makeover too, with “loaded” nachos boasting guacamole, pink onions and salsa verde and Mexican fries with chilli-lime salt and hot sauce.
Meanwhile, Club Mexicana’s pale ale, created in collaboration with Beer 52, will also be on sale alongside a selection of all natural wines.
The brainchild of founder Meriel Armitage, the new burger shack will add to Club Mexicana's loations, which currently include Shoreditch's Dinerama and London’s first 100 per cent vegan pub, The Spread Eagle.
Armitage said: “We’ve wanted to collaborate with Netil Market again for ages as we are big fans of their market. We did our very first street food event on the rooftop of Netil House, so there’s something quite nostalgic for us returning with our new Burger Bar.
“We want it to be a place where we can try new ideas, run specials and collaborations, whilst getting back to our street food roots putting us face to face with the most important people – our customers.”
The new site will be open at weekends from 11am until 9pm.
