A Birmingham club that had ‘security measures in place’ when three clubbers claimed they were spiked by injection.
Three University of Birmingham students said they were spiked by injection when out at the Nightingale Club, in the city’s Gay Village.
The three women all found similar bruising on their arms after last Friday evening out, and suffered “excessive sweating”, BirminghamLive reported .
One also found a ‘pinprick mark’ in her leather jacket following the evening.
This all came after the venue said it “already had security measures in place to minimise risks” and stressed it was taking spiking “extremely seriously”.
One of the students said: "The entire day was wiped out, I was exhausted and excessively sweating, it was like cold sweats and I was constantly sleeping. I felt really weak, my arm was killing me.
"I dismissed it as if I'd accidentally bruised it because I didn't black out."
The student said her "heart dropped" as she says she later discovered a pin prick hole in the arm of her leather jacket.
The three pals, who had been part of a seven-strong group, said they were decided to visit A&E for blood tests and Hepatitis jabs.
Nightingale said it was working closely with West Midlands Police after an investigation into the reports was launched.
A spokesperson for the Kent Street venue said: "The Nightingale Club takes the matter of spiking extremely seriously.
"We already have security measures in place to minimise the risks and safeguard the safety of our customers. We will closely with West Midlands Police in the event of any investigation."
The force said further enquiries will be made into the reports as it shared details on how to 'stay safe on a night out'.
A statement from West Midlands Police read: "We’re investigating a report of three women being spiked during a night out in Birmingham city centre on Friday (18 February). The women – who are friends - all noticed bruising to their arms the following day.
"They also could not recall events from the previous evening. This led them to believe they had been spiked and report this to us. Further enquiries will be carried out.
