Club desperate to sell striker amid Nottingham Forest links – reports

Galatasaray are reportedly ‘desperate’ to sell striker Mbaye Diagne amid links with Nottingham Forest.

The 28-year-old could be looking for a new club in the summer, with the Turkish giants willing to listen to offers.

Turkish-Football claim a source close to the club revealed they are desperate to sell Diagne this summer and will accept a figure around the £5m mark – although they are yet to receive an offer.

The report adds that while Galatasaray rate Diagne highly, he does not have a future after he fell out with manager Fatih Terim and the technical staff.

Diagne, a Senegal international, hit 31 goals in 36 appearances last season, with his impressive early-season form for Kasimpasa earning the move to Galatasaray.

He didn’t score in his first three games of the 2019/20 season for the Super Lig giants, and sealed a loan move to Club Brugge in September.

Diagne hit four goals in six league appearances for Brugge – five of those appearances from the bench – but hasn’t played since the Champions League defeat to Paris-Saint Germain in November.

The striker was fined and dropped after taking and missing a penalty in that game, taking it himself instead of designated penalty taker Hans Vanaken.

His contract with Galatasaray expires in the summer of 2023.
