Club chief confirms Crystal Palace transfer move for £20m man as Chelsea face Chalov battle

Crystal Palace supporters will be looking to the transfer window now there is no football on the Selhurst Park pitch as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

And there have been a number of links with players in the last few days.

Wilfried Zaha made the headlines earlier this week with his amazing gesture in opening his doors to NHS staff in these troubled times.

But the Palace headlines right now are being made by transfer gossip.

Eze does it

Crystal Palace have to be reasonably frugal when it comes to making new signings

The Eagles do not have the same financial power as some of the Premier League’s big boys and have to be careful whom they spend their money on.

But according to Les Ferdinand, Palace have made previous transfer enquiries about QPR ace Ebere Eze.

The young Hoops frontman has plenty of interest from teams in the Premier League, with Tottenham tipped to make a move for him this summer.

However, QPR’s sporting director has confirmed that Palace asked about signing him.

Speaking to  The Beautiful Game Podcast, Ferdinand said: “ Crystal Palace  made an enquiry but we never got to any fee or any negotiations in terms of what it was going to take.

"They made an enquiry about him and that was it."

Chalov a battle

Eze is not the only forward being linked with a move to Selhurst Park.

Russian frontman Fedor Chalov is another young striker who is on the Eagles’ radar, according to the Sun.

But they face a battle to secure his services.

Chelsea are also interested in the 21-year-old, and have been tracking him for a while.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the transfer window opens.
