After a poor start to Group A with just one point from their opening two games, Real have rallied to secure the runners-up spot behind group winners PSG.
Second place is not something Zinedine Zidane is used to, but the Real coach - who won this competition with Los Blancos in 2016, 2017 and 2018 - will take it and look to win the trophy yet again in the New Year.
Hosts Brugge have applied themselves creditably in a tough group, and will secure Europa League football as long as they at least match Galatasaray's result on matchday 6.
