Club break silence on Nottingham Forest transfer

Marcus McGuane has been wished good luck by SC Telstar as a move to Nottingham Forest edges closer.

The central midfielder is currently at the Dutch outfit, spending the season there on loan from Spanish giants Barcelona.

He is on the verge of completing a transfer to Forest, two years after moving to the Nou Camp from Arsenal.

McGuane, a product of the Gunners' academy, has made 14 starts for the Dutch second tier side but hasn't been involved in the past five games.

The 21-year-old has appeared for Barcelona's senior side in the Spanish cup and has mainly been involved with the club's reserve sides.

He is awaiting international clearance for a move to go through and Telstar appear to have confirmed as much on their official Twitter account.

They tweeted: "Good luck Marcus" yesterday morning, tagging Forest in their post.

McGuane made two appearances for Arsenal's first team and had featured extensively for the club's European youth sides and Under-23 team.

He is a central midfielder, who can also operate deeper.

An England Under-19 international, he has been capped four times by Paul Simpson's side.
