BHOPAL: Despite clouds and sun playing hide and seek, the day temperature in the city remained at the 40 degrees Celsius mark. Absence of pre monsoon activity makes the wait for respite from heat long. Largely similar weather would prevail in the state for the next few days.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said there is an east west trough over northwest Rajasthan. It would lead to moisture incursion and thundery development over parts of the state, officials said.
Day temperature in Bhopal on Friday was recorded at 40.2 degrees Celsius, a degree less than normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 27.2 degrees Celsius, which was at the normal mark. Wind direction in the city was southwesterly and average wind speed was 20 kmph. The places that recorded showers between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm in the day were Damoh 1 mm, Gwalior trace and Jabalpur also recorded trace of rain.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Saturday the meteorological officials said, there would be clear sky in the day and evenings will be cloudy.
A few places in the city may witness thundery development and high velocity winds in the evening.
In the forecast for the state, meteorological officials issued warning of thunder, lighting and high velocity winds at some places.
A possibility of rain and thunder was also underlined for Rewa and Shahdol divisions. The weather would be dry over other places in the state, officials added.
