Hundreds of websites were down on Tuesday morning amid an internet outage.

Major sites like Discord and JustEast were unavailable at around 8 am, with users receiving “500 internal service error” messages.

Sites and apps like Fitbit, Peloton, and Grindr were also temporarily down.

The internet outage was caused by the content delivery network Cloudflare experiencing service issues.

Cloudflare is an internet network used by “millions of Internet properties.” Its website says “Our services run silently in the background, keeping many of the websites and services you depend on up and running.”

When Cloudflare experienced an outage, it meant that the websites that rely on its services were temporarily unavailable.

At around 8.45 am, Cloudflare said on Twitter that it had implemented a fix and was monitoring the results. Just after 9 am, Cloudflare said that the issue had been resolved.
