Cloud bread baking craze has taken over TikTok - and it only requires three ingredients

During lockdown many people decided to give baking a go and social media timelines were soon flooded with photos of banana bread and cookies.

Now there's a new baked good that everyone seems to be making - cloud bread.

The fluffy treat has taken over TikTok and there are currently over 35,000 posts with the hashtag #cloudbread on Instagram.

It's really simple to make as you only need three ingredients, so it could be the ideal recipe to try out with your little ones in the kitchen.

Cloud bread is made from egg whites, corn starch, and sugar.

If you want to make things even more fun, you can also add food colouring to create bright, rainbow-coloured versions.

A TikTok user named @linqanaa sparked the craze after sharing a recipe for cloud bread which went viral.

It states that you need three egg whites, 30g of sugar and 10g corn starch.

Once you've rounded up the ingredients, begin by separating three eggs, placing the egg whites in a mixing bowl and whisking them until they're frothy.

Next add in the sugar and cornstarch. Keep whisking until the mixture has a thick consistency like dough - an electric whisk could come in handy here.

If you're adding food colouring, you can do so at this point.

Once the mix is nice and thick, put the mixture on a baking sheet, forming a sort of dome.

If you fancy adding toppings, you could sprinkle something on top now, for example almond slices or hundreds and thousands.

Then pop it in the oven at 300 degrees for about 25 minutes.

And there you have it, it really is that simple!
