Close friendship between Senegal and India
Business is booming between Senegal and India.
Last year, imports of Senegalese goods to India nearly doubled making India Senegal’s third biggest importer of local goods.
On the ground though, the Indian diaspora of around just 400 people is discreet, and the Indian presence would go almost unnoticed if it wasn’t for the fleets of Tata buses that charge around the capital Dakar and beyond.
Rajeev Kumar, the Indian ambassador to Senegal is keener than ever to develop ties between the two countries.
He even sees India as a better option for Senegalese entrepreneurs than Europe or the west.
