Close Brothers Asset Management (CBAM) has appointed chartered wealth manager Michael Barr as an investment director in its Edinburgh office.
Barr joins from Brooks Macdonald, where he spent seven years as an investment manager and director, having previously worked in the Channel Islands for four years at EY.
In his new role, he will aim to expand CBAM's investment management service for high net worth clients.
Barr has experience of private client and charity funds and specialist research in UK stocks and AIM BPR qualifying shares, and was deputy manager of Brooks Macdonald's AIM Portfolio Service.
Four new managing directors have joined CBAM in the Edinburgh this year and it now employs 110 people in Scotland.

“His considerable expertise in managing both charity funds and handling private clients’ needs will be a fantastic asset as we continue to enhance our high net worth proposition in Scotland.
