Clongriffin site with planning permission for 1,800 homes available for €50 million

A 27.4-acre site in Clongriffin with planning permission for 1,823 homes has gone on the market for €50 million.

Savills Ireland claims the site is "shovel ready" for any potential developer to move in to build one of Ireland largest residential developments.

The site, which is just over 9km north of Dublin City also has permission for a 209-bedroom hotel, including 20 short-term let apartments, and 1,358 car parking spaces.

There's also over 22,000sqm of space available for retail and commercial property.

Clongriffin has been a hotbed for development in recent months and years.

This area of North Dublin was set to be the next large town built north of Dublin city. There were plans to build over 3,000 homes, a shopping centre, a train station and other amenities.

However, the economic crash of 2008 put those plans on the back burner, and the area still hasn't fulfilled those promises made in 2003.

In September of this year, Tristan Capital and Twinlite announced plans to sell two build-to-rent apartment schemes in Clongriffin which had 650 apartments in total either built and occupied or under construction.

The price tag was €300 million-plus with foreign pension and vulture funds showing strong interest in buying the scheme.
