Clive Tyldesley explains Rangers TV absence as he promises fans he 'will be back'

Clive Tyldesley has promised Rangers fans he will be back working at Ibrox as soon as some restrictions are lifted.

The commentator has been absent from RangersTV in recent weeks and some fans wondered would he be back in the gantry any time soon.

And he took to social media to explain that it isn't possible to travel to Glasgow from his home in England while there's so much concern about Covid-19.

The former ITV commentator remains a close watcher of the side though as he showed off on his Instagram with a clip that saw Rangers vs Hibs in the background.

He posted: "Rangers fans, it wouldn't be right for me to be travelling north unnecessarily at the moment but I'll be back. Promise!"

Rangers maintained their 16 point lead over Celtic at the top of the table with a 1-0 win at Ibrox against Hibs on Saturday afternoon.

Ianis Hagi scored the only goal of the game in the first half and Steven Gerrard had to watch on as his side dealt with any threat thrown their way by Hibs.

Allan McGregor made a great stop from a Melker Hallberg shot while Ryan Kent, Leon Balogun and Alfredo Morelos all had chances for Rangers.
