Clippers vs. Chicago Bulls preview

Feb. 28--The Clippers play the Chicago Bulls at United Center in Chicago on Sunday at 10 a.m. in what will be their third game of a four-game trip.

The Clippers split the first two games of the trip, losing to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, 110-105, before beating the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, 97-79.

Both the Clippers and Bulls will be playing without their superstars.

Cilppers power forward Blake Griffin remains sidelined after having surgery Feb. 9 to remove a staph infection from his right elbow. And Bulls point guard Derrick Rose is out after the team announced Tuesday that he tore the medial meniscus in his right knee for the second time in 15 months and would require surgery.

Without Griffin, the Clippers have played surprisingly well, winning five of their eight games. The Bulls have played two games without Rose, losing to the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, 98-86, before beating the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, 96-89.

The Clippers are in sixth place in the Western Conference with a record of 38-21. The Bulls are in third place in the East with a record of 37-22.

When the teams played in Los Angeles on Nov. 17, the Bulls won, 105-89. In that game, the Bulls outshot the Clippers from the field, 49% to 44%, and from beyond the three-point line, 39% to 30%.

After playing the Bulls, the Clippers cap off their trip against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday.
