Nov. 18--The Clippers lost to the Bulls, 105-89, on Monday night at Staples Center.
Oh yeah, the Bulls were playing without two of their star players, Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol.
It wasn't quite the going-away party the Clippers had wanted the night before they leave for a seven-game road trip.
The Clippers, who led by as many as 14 points in the second quarter, were outscored in the third, 31-14. They entered the fourth quarter trailing by 15 points, 79-64. The Bulls extended that lead to as much as 19.
The Clippers used a 12-2 run in the fourth quarter to cut the Bulls' lead to eight. The Clippers then got to within seven points of the Bulls a few times, but the Bulls didn't allow their lead to diminish further.
What kind of night was it for the Clippers? DeAndre Jordan air-balled a free throw. Blake Griffin went scoreless in the second and third quarters. And J.J. Redick shot two for 10 from the field.
The Clippers only made 44% of their shots from the field compared to Chicago's 49% shooting, and were outrebounded 45-40. They only made 10 of their 22 free-throw attempts.
Jamal Crawford led the Clippers with 24 points on 10-for-17 shooting. Griffin had 19 points, only six of which he scored after the first quarter, and 10 rebounds. Chris Paul had 12 points and seven assists.
Jimmy Butler led the Bulls with 22 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Taj Gibson had 20 points, six assists and five rebounds. And Mike Dunleavy had 19 points and seven rebounds.
