The Boston Celtics picked up two wins on Tuesday night. After Jayson Tatum led them to a much needed 116-106 win over the Cavaliers in Cleveland, the Celtics also earned another draft pick in the upcoming June draft.
With the Los Angeles Clippers clinching a playoff berth, their 2019 first round pick in June now belongs to the Celtics, completing the Jeff Green trade from 2016.
The Celtics will now have three first round draft picks this June. They have their own, Sacramento Kings’ and now the Clippers’. There’s also still the chance they receive a pick from the Memphis Grizzlies who owe Boston a top-eight protected pick.
On the court, Boston now looks to carry its momentum back home when the C’s host the Indiana Pacers on Friday. The Celtics trail Indiana by a game and a half for the four seed, and the all-important home court advantage in the opening round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
