Clippers' Austin Rivers listed as probable against Washington Wizards

Dec. 28--Though the Clippers are seeking to extend their winning streak to three straight games, they eschewed a shoot-around before Monday night's game against the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center.

The Clippers may get back reserve guard Austin Rivers, who has been listed as "probable" for the game by the team.

Rivers has missed the previous three games with a sprained right ankle, and had told reporters in Salt Lake City on Saturday night that he hoped to play against the Wizards.

The Clippers are looking to win their second straight game without All-Star forward Blake Griffin, who is expected to be out at least two weeks with a partially torn left quad tendon.

Josh Smith started in Griffin's absence Saturday night against the Utah Jazz and is listed as the starter for the game against the Wizards.

But Smith played just five minutes against the Jazz, missing his only two shots and going scoreless.

Paul Pierce will face his former Wizards team for the first time since he left Washington to join the Clippers last summer.
