Clinton Evbota: Family of teen stabbed to death in Camberwell call for ‘senseless’ violence to end

This is the first picture of an 18-year-old stabbed to death near his childhood home — as his devastated family call for an end to the capital’s “senseless” violence.

Relatives paid tribute to Clinton Evbota who was murdered opposite a nursery in Camberwell’s Brandon Estate on Thursday evening.

Friends said he grew up on the estate but had moved with his family to Dartford in the summer and was working as a delivery driver.

Naomi Ojo, 18, told the Standard: “He was always happy, always smiling.” She added: “Killing people doesn’t make sense. It needs to stop.”

She said Mr Evbota’s mother was in shock following her son’s death, adding: “The place and the people he grew up around has a history with crime but he was not part of that.”

His death came hours after Baptista Adjei, 15, was stabbed outside a shopping centre in Stratford. A 15-year-old boy was set to appear at Stratford youth court today charged with his murder.
